A new face on a historic space at the intersection of Capitol Hill, Navy Yard, and the Capitol Riverfront

Historic Car Barn

For nearly a century, the Navy Yard Car Barn served as the last stop on the Red Line, repairing and rerouting streetcars across the nation’s capital for the Capital Transit Company. Now this historic car barn has been turned into a state-of-the-art event venue with a variety of versatile spaces for hosting retreats, corporate meetings, conferences, weddings, parties and other social events.

Main Hall

Similar to the powerhouse of the train, the Main Hall is located in the hub of the Capital Turnaround. With its open floor plan, exposed brick aesthetic, and modern-LED screens, the versatility of this event space makes it easy to execute any client’s vision.

Auditorium

Once a historic car barn from the 1800’s, this century-old garage has been turned into a state-of-the-art performance space featuring LED screens and a capacity of 982.

Green Rooms

In the same way the sleeper car of a train was created for riders to have a private sanctuary to relax and unwind during their travels, the Capital Turnaround is equipped with three expansive green rooms. Created for the speaker or band to relax and prepare for their moment on stage, these spaces are equipped with chic furnishings, restrooms, a kitchenette, and a cozy fireplace to complete the vibe. Everyone is a true VIP while lounging in the Capital Turnaround green rooms.

Gathering Spaces

Like the carriage, coach and corridor cars of a railway train, the Capital Turnaround has a variety of spaces for small and large gatherings and meetings, making this a perfect venue for corporate meetings or social events.
